SOS DD
I hate my job. I've said it many times before. I'm overqualified. I work with morons. I take orders from idiots.
Just let me do my job and leave me the fuck alone.
Two things have REALLY gotten under my skin lately...
There is one engineer. Let's call him Beavis. Beavis likes to poorly design systems and doesn't know as much about the equipment as he should. Since I've been assigned to be the "lead tech" on a couple of his jobs, he likes to tell me what I've done wrong. And what I mean by things that "I've done wrong", I mean things that other morons have fucked up. After one large job was over Beavis came up to me and listed off two wiring errors that he had found. TWO errors on a FIFTEEN room job. There had to be hundreds of connections. What really pissed me off was that he was insinuating that I had made the mistakes. I told him that if I had wired it, it would have been right.
I'll admit it. I'm not as fast as other installers. Why? Because I take my time and make sure that everything works the FIRST TIME. Also, so that I don't get dumbass engineers blaming me for thier fuckups.
On to under my skin number 2...
Don't lie or be a complete inconsiderate fuck when planning out-of-town trips.
Two weeks ago, my boss calls and asks me if I can go out of town the 3rd and 20th of October. I gave him my typical response and said I'd check to see what was going on. I get back to the shop and find out that the 3rd and 20th are weird days. This sent up a red flag. When my manager is lying, he does stuff like this. I told him that I had stuff going on and wouldn't be able to do it. I found out later from one of the guys that he also asked to go, that it was for two weeks straight INCLUDING THE WEEKEND. WTF?!?!? He didn't say jack squat about that. I'm sorry but I'm not giving up my weekends for this shitty job.
When exactly was he going to mention that little tidbit? Unless is pays doubletime, I'm not staying out of town of the f'n weekend.
Just let me do my job, get home on time, and give me my fucking money. Nobody gets hurt.
