Drunken injury.

Did you guys see the olympic clip where the Italian skater is dropped flat on her side? I decided to re-enact it last night by myself. After drinking a few too many I slipped on some black ice. I came down with both my hip and face breaking my fall. I hit soo hard that I had to lay there for a minute until the wave of pain went away and I could start breathing again. It was really bad. I've been limping around all day.

On the brighter side, this cute bartender babe was working again. I saw here the last time that I was there and we exchanged smiles. This time when I came in she was very happy to see me. Oh yeah. The place was extremely busy all night but I at least got her name and got things rolling. I can't wait to see her again.

Knee replacement at 18?!?

WOW, I just watched the olympic clip where the girl breaks her REPLACEMENT knee. WTF?!? You need to get your ass out of the sport if you can't even drink and you're already having major joints replaced. Yikes.

Windows without the crap.

Did somebody install a bunch of crap on your computer? The wonderful insidious programs that start as soon as you start Windows? Do you want to know how to shut them off? Here's how...

I was over working on a friend's college age daughter's PC. OMFG! As soon as I turned it on, I was met with an insane amount of adware and at least three different instant messengers. Wow! This "new" Pentium4 computer was sooo dog slow from the 50+ applications running on it. This is the application that helped me keep my sanity. MSCONFIG.

Go to your task bar and click on "Run" then type in MSCONFIG. Like so:

MSCONFIG will start. It looks like this...

Unclick "Load Startup Items" and then click on the "Apply" button.

You will then see this message...

Don't worry. This won't permanently disable the programs. It will only disable them until you click the "Load Startup Items" later on. Once you click the "Restart" button, your computer will restart. All of the evil programs should be gone once Windows boots back up.

You will be greeted by this message...

If you leave the checkbox next to "Don't show this message or launch the System configuration Utility when Windows start" and click the "OK" button, Windows will now start up like normal without this message.

You don't want to leave everything disabled. You'll be running without any anit-virus software or firewall. That's bad. Instead do what you need to get done and then run MSCONFIG again. This time check the "Load Startup Items" box. Now when your restart Windows everything will be back to normal like nothing ever happened. BUT you will still get this message...

Just click OK and shut down the computer. Nobody will ever know that you shut off their programs. Cool, huh?

There is a catch though. By only disabling the Startup Items there may still be a programs or two that still runs. These programs are most likely running as a "service". Evil monitoring software and some update stuff is loaded as a service. A service is a program that is loaded in the background that you don't normally see. In MSCONFIG, you can see what services are loaded by clicking on the "services" tab. See...

If you see something funky, unclick the box next to it. It's just that easy.

Again, you can undo everything by just re-clicking the boxes that you have unchecked.

Have fun!

Define dull you asshole.

I'm talking to you Apple. I find you newest ad friggin' hilarious.

Just because you finally found out that PowerPC chips are junk, you have to shit on me?!? Screw you. Dull is having boxes that are IDENTICAL. Dull is not being able to modify your computer. Dull is having a computer that NOBODY MAKES SOFTWARE FOR. Dull is having a whopping handful of games that are ported to your platform months after they are out on the PC.

Back in the mid-nineties you actually allowed people to make motherboards. What happened? Amazing innovations. Systems with more than 3 PCI slots, custom cases, systems that enthusiasts were actually interested in!!! Thank God that you pulled the plug on that one right quick. Back to the old closed boxes that all LOOK THE SAME. But you're not dull. Oh no, not at all.

I've been building systems that look cooler and are more powerful than shitty Macs for 12 years. Multiple processors, beige, black, blue, brushed aluminum cases, CCFL lighting, LEDs, etc. Name a Mac that you can do that to.

So you made a nice front end for Linux, the most stable OS on the planet. Is that supposed to be impressive? How about building a completely new OS from the ground up like BeOS? Too bad BeOS never took off. It would have put a serious dent in both MacOS and Linux. By far one of the most stable and responsive OS' that I have ever used.

That's all for my geek rant of the day.

I won Powerball!!!

Woohoo!!! I won 365 mill...er, um...$32. LOL! Hey it's still $22 more than I had when I woke up. ;) (I spent $10 on the ticket.) I'm also a firm believer in the powerplay option. Your chances of winning a partial jackpot are MUCH greater than winning the whole thing. Without the powerplay, I would have only won $8.

It'd be nice to win a few thousand bucks. Pay off my credit card, put a nice big downpayment on a new car. Ahhhhhh.

I think that winning the jackpot would be a nightmare. People kidnapping family members, trying to sue you for anything and everything. Nah. At the most, the $200k jackpot would be incredible. That would be, what, $125k after taxes? Spend $25k and stick the other $100k in savings. In 10 years at 6.5% it's be worth $200k. By the time I'd be ready to retire, it would be up to $600k. Yeah, that would be really nice.

It's fun to dream. ;)

Brunettes are yummy.

Tonight was freakin' awesome. NIN was incredible. There were cuties everywhere. Ladies, the white tank top with a black bra...ohhh sooo good. Ummm, yeah it's 3am and I'm friggin drunk. My ears are ringing. I lost at pool. BUT, I did see a face that I haven't seen in a while. No, not the barely 18 (now barely 21) brunette cutie. It was M. Just picture Trinity from the Matrix. Now picture Trinity with a hotter body, and great breasts. That's M.

I was at some Isish bar on a couple blocks from the Rave. I ran into this cool guy, who was the only one who complemented me on my Danko T-shirt (I wore it to the NIN concert). The dude is insane. Like a foot shorter than me. Sopmehow he knows my Roomate's sister's boyfriend. He comes up to me and is all like, "Danko, fuck yeah!!!!!" I could only agree. He asks me if I heard the new album. I said no and that it's not supposed to be out for another couplde months. He goes on to tell me that he has it and he can rip me a copy. How f'n cool is that?!? I just have to remind my roommate's sister to remind him. Anywho...

After talking to the danko lovin' dude, I get settled in and enjoy my Jackn'Coke. I'm relaxin in the corner and in walks M. Oh my friggin God. She is wearing this leather top that is showing everything off. Absolutley amazing. She is normally shrouded in a long black trenchcoat ala Trinity. Tonight, not at all. She also isn't with her her dipshit rocker boyfrind. Very surprizing. She comes over and give me a nice big hug, we talk about random crap, and she goes over adn entertains her friends that were already at the bar.

I end up going and shooting pool. The time ticks by without me noticing. All of a sudden there is M. She's leaving. fuck. She comes over gives me another hug. looks me in the eyes and asks me if i going to visit her at the B(the bar sheworks at regularly). I promised I would. She left. So here I sit typing away about how I let another hopttie slip away. but the invitation is still there. And she wasn't with her boyfrind, which is very interesting. But anywho...

NJ it's afreaking Trifecta!!! A turkey!!! A hat-trick!!! Three blog posts ina row!

I'm gonna look at prOn now. Mmmmmmm....M.

Not feeling it.

It's 12:30 and I'm back from the bars already. I just didn't feel like sitting around and sucking in smoke stench anymore. There were some cute ladies around, but anyone that looked interesting was already with some dipshit.

I did learn how to drive stick tonight. How cool is that?!? I've been joking with L that she should teach me stick and let me drive her car. Tonight she was all, "We're doing it!" She was actually serious. I was kinda nervous because she has a new VW Anniversary Edition Rabbit. I really didn't want to do something dumb and break something.

She backed it out (we were in a parking lot so that was good). I hopped in and didn't kill it once. My main problem was that I was wearing my big heavy Sketchers. I really couldn't feel the pedals very well. It was also weird getting out of the habit of putting my right hand on the steering wheel. I only drove it a few miles on some relatively quiet road, but it was still fun.

I think that's kinda why I'm not in the mood to get stupid drunk. I wanna learn more! And getting to hang out with L is always a plus. I peeked and tonight she had on this tiny hot pink thong. Unfortunately there's no chemistry between us. It's a struggle just to get some small talk going. Oh well. I still like to see her just to drool over her incredible body.

...the somewhat drunken rambling continues...

I'm also kinda excited and worried about this weekend. I met this brunette cutie at Summerfest a couple/three years ago. Right off the bat there was some good chemistry. We hung out for a couple hours talking and goofing around. She was a little stand-off-ish everytime I would try to get her phone number or email addy. I found out later from my roommate's sister that she was maybe 18. I couldn't believe it. I never would have guessed. Since then I have run into her a couple/few times at the Rave (where I'm going this weekend). The last time that I saw her was at the last Summerfest back in July. She was looking even hotter. We talked and goofed around all night again AND I got her phone number. (She wrote it on my arm with a marker.) BUT I got hosed down with some beer later and it made it very hard to read. I wussed out and didn't even try. I'm hoping that I run into her again tonight for one more shot. Did I mention that she is a brunette, has incredible blue eyes, and likes rock? Can't get much better.

Rock, Rock, and more F'n rock!!!!

In one kick-ass weekend I get to see Nine Inch Nails (on Saturday), Sevendust, and Nonpoint (on Sunday). It's is going to be awesome. I haven't had the pleasure to see any live rock since Danko Jones. It's been far too long.

I've never seen NIN live. I'm kinda excited. I lknow that their sound guys and equipment will most likely be top-notch. Even though I've seen Sevendust and Nonpoint about a dozen times total, they are both incredible live. Great crowd interaction.

Who knows maybe I'll even run into some cute rocker chick. Mmmmmmmm....rock babes.

On Monday morning I'm going to be deaf, tired, and hungover. I can't wait. ;)
